NOT LOCK STEP:  A Degree Program and/or specific Course that allows the student to progress at his/her own pace.

COHORT BASED:  Virtual Classrooms where faculty and classmates interact.

Candidates should plan on meeting regionally once per semester while enrolled in internship.

Bachelors level licensure in special education

A minimum GRE score of 146 is required; higher scores improve the chance of admission. This requirement is waived if the applicant holds a masters degree from an accredited institution.

Three years (five years preferred) of successful full-time teaching (under a Class A license or equivalent). Other Teaching experience may be considered, but will be the exception. Hold or be eligible to hold a North Carolina Class A teaching license or a comparable license from another state.

Obtain three satisfactory letters of recommendation (at least one must be from your current administrator).

Satisfactory undergraduate (MSA only) GPA of 3.0 or higher.

LOCK STEP:  Entire Degree Program and/or specific Courses with defined beginning and end.

COHORT BASED:  Virtual Classrooms where faculty and classmates interact.

Field experience course must be taken at the beginning of the program and may be taken concurrently with other courses.

Bachelors degree from an accredited institution.
