Each course in the MAT program requires field experiences that may require access to a local secondary school to complete observations and student teaching internship.

The Master of Arts in Teaching program is an alternative teacher certification program. Completion of MAT results in a Master’s Degree and a Kentucky teaching certification. The program is designed for individuals who have earned an undergraduate degree in a certification content area or closely related field.

An ACT of 21 OR GRE of 750 OR passing the content Praxis II exam.

15 Hrs – Teaching Field Courses

Student teaching internship is the culminating field-based experience and spans a full semester.

Program provides qualified individuals who hold a non-teaching bachelors degree a route to initial teacher certification while simultaneously earning a masters degree.
