Student teaching internship is the culminating field-based experience and spans a full semester.

Program provides qualified individuals who hold a non-teaching bachelors degree a route to initial teacher certification while simultaneously earning a masters degree.

student must complete either Student Teaching or Internship.

Student Teaching lasts 13 weeks. It is a full time, all day, non-paid position in a Mentor Teachers classroom within the students area of certification.

Internship is a full time, paid teaching position as teacher-of-record in an accredited public or private school. Students selecting Internship as their field experience are required to apply for Probationary Teaching Certificcte.

applicant must have a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university with a minimum grade point average of 2.8 (on a 4.0 scale). 2-page essay that discusses a difficult professional situation you have faced and how you have used your strengths and your expertise to succeed in spite of the challenge. Applicants whose native language is not English must submit a paper test score of at least 550, a computer test score of 197, or an internet based test score of 71 on the Test

Goddard’s low-residency semester format comprises an intensive 8-day residency on campus, and 16 weeks of independent work.
One semester of student teaching

Assignments within many of the courses guide students through more than 100 hours of observational and practice-based experiences, and the final semester of the program includes a full-time, 16-week student teaching component. Applicants to the program are responsible for contacting their state department of education for licensure requirements and program approval.

Successful completion of this program prepares you for New Hampshire state licensure in Early Childhood Education (pre-K through third grade). Candidates seeking a comparable teaching or administrative license in a state other than New Hampshire must meet the out-of-state certification/licensure requirements for your state to be licensed. We currently are accepting applications for this program only from residents of the following states: New Hampshire, Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Maine, Vermont and Virginia.

There are two types of classroom experiences required in our programs, per state requirements: 1. In each class, there is a 10 hour fieldwork observation experience. 2. The Clinical Experience (student teaching) – EDUC 709 or EDUC 713 is a semester-long capstone course.
